Types of Online Faxing

Online fax (Internet fax) refers to sending a document using the internet. The types of online faxing include;

1.)    Email Fax  (Fax to Email):

This is whereby one uses their email to send faxes and one requires a subscription to an online fax service. Sending the faxes is done by attaching files from one’s computer to the Email of the person intended to get the faxes. Once the online faxing service receives the email, it is changed to a fax format and sent to the person who is supposed to be receiving the fax. The moment the service receives one’s fax number, it converts the fax into a PDF file and then afterwards one is notified about it.

2.)    Web-Based Fax:

With web-based fax, one just chooses the document one wishes to send, makes a decision on a cover page, types the recipient’s fax number and then presses send and it’s done. It’s as easy as that. What’s more, one may even do this for free if he or she has either one or two pages only to send.

3.)    PC to Fax:

Here, the PC uses one’s analog telephone line to send out the faxes.

4.)    Personal online fax:

This allows one to send faxes using intranet and it also enables one to send short documents which are about three pages long. Some of the companies that offer this service include GotFreeFax and FaxXero.

5.)    Stand-alone fax:

This is very helpful to businesses and individuals who have no need of the entire fax service but only a fax number. Rapidfax, MYfax and eFax are some of the companies that offer this service.

6.)    Voice over IP:

For fast growing businesses, this is the right service to choose since it has many communication features, example, call waiting, voice mail, etc. Companies that provide such are RingCentral and Nextive among others.

Online Faxing vs. Phone Line Faxing

Although there are many positive things about a traditional fax machine, like the variety of settings you have available if you need to send a document in a particular way or the highly guaranteed privacy it provides between you and the individual you are faxing to, people often have limited time in their day to keep up with the cleaning and the repairs of a traditional fax machine, other people may need to send something quicker than what a traditional fax machine is capable of.

If you are one of these individuals, than looking into online faxing may be just the thing to make your day to day life at the office just a little easier.

  • One of the most obvious benefits of online faxing is the fact it saves you time. When you fax a document via the internet, the recipient receives the document much quicker, and they don’t even have to be stocked up on paper and ink, or even make sure their fax machine is turned on, with internet fax it goes straight into the recipients designated online faxing account.
  • Online faxing is also overall cheaper. You not only save on ink, paper, and the upkeep of the fax machine, but also on the cost of an extra phone line that is needed for your fax machine. If you choose to fax online, you can pay month to month for a virtual faxing account and they are usually relatively cheap.
  • Faxing via the internet is also very efficient. If you run your own business things can get busy, and you just don’t have time to spend countless hours filing faxes and ensuring that the right individuals in the office are receiving them.  However with online faxing, the fax is directly sent to the person who is suppose to have it, and you don’t even have to fill out any cover forms.
  • Online faxing can also save you a great amount of space, you do not have to have a huge fax machine sitting around or piles of papers and you just need a small space for a scanner.

Although there are pluses about using a traditional fax machine, online faxing has become very popular with busy business men and women and can be a great resource for you business whether you work from home or in an office.
